What is the pets making coffee AI trend?

Updated:

Short answer

It is a one-shot AI kitchen sketch. Two pets stand upright behind a counter: one pours a hot drink into a red mug, the other stirs it. A milk bottle tips over and floods the counter, then both turn to the camera looking innocent, and one covers its face with a paw. The joke is the calm around the mess.

Example frame: a cream-and-brown cat and a black-and-white dog stand at a counter in a sage-green kitchen, looking straight at the camera in front of a spilled puddle of milk

Where it came from

The original was a 15-second community AI template shared in late October 2026, and its author is not known. The first remakes with other pets appeared on 27 and 28 October, and the best-known TikTok version is by @maxboerboeldog, with two large dogs, posted on 28 October at about 305,700 views and labelled as AI-generated. Counts were read on 31 October 2026 and not audited, and the trend is still early.

Why people copy it

  • Pets with jobs are funny: a cat with a kettle or a dog with a spoon is a cartoon that looks real.
  • The mess is the punchline: nothing is said, and the innocent stare does the joke.
  • Anyone can star: any dog, cat or other pet fits the same counter.
